Unsung Heroes
Happy Friday! You can watch the 77 sec. video, or take one-minute to read the content below. And as always, thanks so much for watching/reading.
UNSUNG HEROES
The term “unsung hero” is believed to have originated in the early 19th century and was used to describe someone who had performed a brave or noteworthy act but had not received recognition or praise for it.
In business, we find these unsung heroes everywhere. Whether male or female, young or old, introverted or extroverted, these heroes get on with their daily work and never overtly seek a pat on the back or praise. They know what to do and apply themselves, making it easier for managers, as there is little or no effort required to keep them performing, until…
Even the best of these heroes can feel overlooked, unsupported, and under-appreciated. I’ve spoken to many of these and sometimes get asked if the boss thinks they are doing a good job. I’m always surprised, as the boss has often commented how valuable they are, but that value appreciation and sense of support hasn’t seeped down to the team member.
And this is one reason why good people leave, even after working for the same company for decades.
If you manage others, ensure you don’t take good people for granted. Be generous in your verbal appreciation and tangible support.
And if you work for a boss, make sure you express your appreciation to them, as they are often the most hidden of the unsung heroes.

Work Snippet (New)
People often ask me what I do, so I thought for the next little while, I would include some snippets here for those who are interested.
Making leaders lives easier.
When a business owner, manager, or employee mentions that my work has made their “at-work and out-of-work” life better, this is the ultimate. While I enjoy doing process improvement, strategic clarity, profitability enhancement, and leadership development, when it translates to people living more at ease with themselves, their work, their teams and families— these are deeply fulfilling moments.
Ray has transformed my life. I have learned how to maintain an effective work-life balance. Now I am able to appreciate and enjoy those small moments that make life worthwhile. Reni - New York USA
